Hurd Scholarship
Remembering Tania Hurd
The Burbank Sister City Committee is greatly saddened at the sudden death of Tania Hurd, Culinary Arts teacher at John Burroughs High School and an active member of the Sister City Committee. She died in a tragic helicopter accident at Catalina Island on May 24, 2008. Ms. Hurd served as a chaperone for the Burbank Student Exchange Visit to Ota, Japan in July 2007. She and her family also hosted a student from our Sister City of Incheon, South Korea in August 2007. She will be greatly missed by all of us, but we will keep her memory in our hearts always.
In lieu of flowers, the Hurd family has requested that donations be made to the Burbank Sister City Tania Hurd Scholarship Fund.
